First Annual Orinda Restaurant Tour Launched September 30th
Attendees Savor Culinary Delights While Benefitting Orinda’s Public
Schools
Orinda, California – San Francisco’s East Bay area food lovers
had the opportunity to join a fun, expeditionary culinary tour to savor and
sample their way through Orinda restaurants, on Tuesday, September 30th.
The Orinda Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the
Educational
Foundation of Orinda (EFO), a non-profit organization committed to
providing financial support for quality educational and enrichment
programs for Orinda’s public schools, and The City of Orinda today
announced plans for the first annual Orinda Restaurant Tour.
The inaugural event took place from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Registration and hors d’oeuvres were at the Theatre Square
shopping and entertainment complex from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The actual tour
of the city’s restaurants was from 6:00-8:00 p.m., followed by
dessert, and coffee at Theatre Square from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Carlos Rangel, owner of Orinda’s Shelby’s Restaurant, labeled the event as
the city’s culinary expedition of the year, adding,
“This is a great opportunity to promote what we are all about!”
Each restaurant on the tour provided a small portion that best
represents the establishment at no cost to the event ticket holders.
One glass of wine was included in the ticket price. The cost of an individual
ticket was $30 with EFO receiving $10 from every ticket sold. Reservations
were
limited to 300 ticket holders.
The Chamber’s goal was to delight participants – as they
enjoyed an evening of friendship, and discover the savory surprises the
great chefs of the charming town have to offer. |
