The Chamber is proud to announce this year’s choice for the Contra Costa Council’s 8^th Annual Small Business Recognition Awards: Orinda Motors.Owners, Allen and Terry Pennebaker have been selected for their generous financial contributions to the community and “Seniors Around Town”.  Additionally, they volunteer their time and lend their beautiful vintage automobiles for Orinda’s 4^th of July parade. Accepting the award on behalf of the Pennebaker’s will be Orinda Motors Service Manager John Vanek. Congratulations to Orinda Motors for this special recognition!

Walk - Bike - Bus
to School and Work Day
Friday, May 16, 2008

Orinda will be celebrating Walk/Bike/Bus to School and Work Day on Friday, May 16^th.  This event promotes walking and biking for several reasons including:

• Physical Fitness

• Teaching safe walking and biking skills to children

• Concern for the environment

• Reducing traffic congestion, pollution and excessive speed

• Sharing time for community members, parents and children

This event is being sponsored by the City of Orinda and the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee in support of similar national programs and to increase awareness for improving pedestrian and bicycle pathways in our community.

Cal Shakes Festival Night
